The Prime Minister continues to divide Australians on climate change with his disparaging and dismissive remarks about patrons of inner-city cafes, dinner parties and wine bars (“Industry key to Australia’s emissions target, not ‘inner-city dinner parties’: PM”, smh.com.au, April 20). Climate change is all of our concern, Prime Minister. Many of us in regional and rural Australia echo sentiments expressed by city dwellers. Scientists have been leading the way in communicating climate change knowledge to help us make decisions. The farming organisations are far ahead of the government in their approach to climate change. Update (19 April): On 19 April 2021, NASA reached a historic milestone - the first-ever controlled flight of a craft in the atmosphere of another planet.
The proof-of-concept flight was performed by the little helicopter called Ingenuity, which hitched a ride to the red planet with the Perseverance rover, landing earlier this year.
We must take a moment to celebrate this, an ecstatic Ingenuity project manager MiMi Aung congratulated everyone on the team after they received and parsed the initial data, confirming the successful test flight.
A deeper analysis of this monumental achievement is to come during a NASA broadcast at 2 pm EDT, when we will learn more about the altitude, length of the flight, and other details. You can watch that live right here.

Two women have appeared at court accused of assisting an offender by disposing of firearms .
Kimberley Louise Woodhouse, 38, and Leanda Wright, 44, appeared at Teesside Magistrates Court on Monday.
Both women are charged with assisting an offender in Thornaby between July 2 and September 5, 2020.

Police are investigating POLICE in Cleveland are appealing for information about separate robberies in Middlesbrough and Thornaby. A man and woman in their 20s were robbed on Outram Street in Middlesbrough at 9.15pm on Thursday April 15. They were approached by a man who pushed the male victim over and stole his phone. The suspect is described as being white, wearing a black cap, long-sleeved top and a face mask. Police are also investigating a robbery on Westbury Street in Thornaby on March 22 at around 11.20pm. The victim was on Cheltenham Avenue when he was approached by a dark hatchback with two men described by the victim as Kurdish and Eastern European inside.
